In the lead-up to the MOBO Awards on Tuesday 18 February, Newcastle and Gateshead come alive with The MOBO Fringe – a five-day festival of culture, community, and creativity.
MOBO and Newcastle City Council, in partnership with Generator, The Glasshouse, Northern Roots and Nrthrn Baby, have curated a dynamic and inclusive programme that will showcase the richness of Black music and culture while creating meaningful opportunities for local creators and communities. Running from Thursday 13 February to Monday 17 February, The Fringe will combine live performances, workshops, industry summits, and community-led initiatives to leave a lasting legacy for the region.
The Glasshouse welcomes all to the MOBO Fringe Launch Party on Thursday 13 February, and to a special BBC Introducing NE x MOBO Showcase gig on Sunday 16 February. Finally the MOBO Music Summit on Monday 17 February is a space for music creators and people working in music of the global majority from the North East for inspiring workshops, conversations and panel discussions.
All events at The Glasshouse are FREE, with tickets needed to make sure of your place: check below for the lineups in Sage Two and other free performances taking over the building for MOBO Fringe.
