Backstage: Episode #26 Celebrating our 15th Anniversary
In this episode we celebrate the 15th anniversary of Sage Gateshead by seeking the views of people for whom it has meant a great deal over that time: photographer and regular gig-goer Pete Robinson; artist in residence Ruth Patterson; and marketing and communications director Esme Flounders.
Managing director Abigail Pogson gives us some clues as to what we can expect from the next 15 years; Clarence Adoo tells us about pioneering work he’s doing with RNS Moves to create a unique, inclusive ensemble that brings together disabled and non-disabled musicians; and we follow the progress of Elaine Henderson, one of the members of the Silver Programme for people over the age of 50, as she takes up percussion.
Backstage is a regular podcast where we go behind the scenes for exclusive interviews and insights from leading and emerging artists who’ll be taking to the stage at Sage Gateshead, and discover some of the activities that take place, and the communities that meet there.
