Ani Sandwith 'Strangers' | Live from Sage Gateshead
Ani Sandwith is a singer-songwriter from the northeast, currently living in Leeds. Ani self-released her first EP when she was just eighteen and followed it with two singles, resulting in a sold-out hometown gig and a UK tour with a performance at Glastonbury Festival. Since then, she has done several exciting shows including a performance at the northeast’s own Mouth of The Tyne Festival alongside heavyweights Tom Odell and Laura Marling.
After spending the summer in Spain writing and travelling, Ani returned to England amidst a series of significant life changes and began her residency at Sage Gateshead. ‘Strangers’ was birthed on day one of Summer Studios, and Ani spent the week writing and completing the song.
Check out Ani’s music video for ‘Strangers’ which she recorded with us as part of our 2021 Summer Studios – a free, week-long residency at Sage Gateshead during August for 20 musicians, producers, artists, rappers and singers of all genres to be able to create new work, develop their practice or prepare for a performance.
