Safeguarding
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
We believe that all children and adults have an equal right to protection from abuse and neglect, regardless of their age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, or any other vulnerability.
It is the responsibility of everyone to act if there is cause for concern about the welfare of a child, young person, or adult at risk.
If you identify a safeguarding concern that is immediately life-threatening or presents a high risk of serious harm, you should phone 999.
Raising a safeguarding concern:
Monday-Friday, 9am – 5pm: if you identify a safeguarding concern, you must speak to The Glasshouse Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO). You should do this on the same day you identify this concern. The DSO and local authority will then determine what action is necessary to protect the child or adult at risk.
DSO contact phone number: 0191 443 4625

Lost Children
The safety and well-being of our visitors, especially children, is of utmost importance to us at The Glasshouse. We understand that losing sight of a child can be distressing for both the child and their accompanying adult. To ensure a swift and effective response in such situations, we have implemented a Lost Child Policy.
