When I’m not performing or rehearsing you can find me… teaching or hanging out with my family and our two very sweet and demanding sausage dogs, Dorothy and Jemima.

The last book I read is… Where the Crawdads Sing.

My favourite place to visit in the North East is… difficult to choose. This part of the country is so rich in natural, unfussy, breathtaking beauty that any day out to the countryside or the seaside is going to be everything I need to recharge. As a family, we do love the coast. We usually go anywhere between Craster and Bamburgh. There’s nowhere like it. The space, the air, the comfort of a long walk on that beautiful sand beach followed by a good pub lunch is the best day trip or getaway you can get.

The piece of music that changed my life is… I wouldn’t be able to say one piece changed my life. Although I do remember being about 12 years old and getting assigned my first big piece by my teacher, Lalo’s Sinfonia Espagnole. My mum and I went straight out to get the CD and have a listen after the lesson. I could have buzzed straight out of the room with excitement. The idea that if I kept practicing, I’d get to play more and more of this music was the most mind-blowing realisation.
