Radikal Queen

Radikal Queen is Tyneside’s premier Black spoken word artist. She uses words that dance to original Black music, and that shimmer with a raw sensuality, reminiscent of the vintage divas of the Blues.

She is a cultural activist who has performed her unique brand of mesmerising verse and theatre to international audiences across the world via her ethos: bringing the margins to the centre.

Radikal Queen will be using the residency to record the digital soundtrack to JazzWitch, a hybrid theatrical show that incorporates song, spoken word, banter, as inspired by the pioneers of jazz and blues.
