Joe Ramsey
Joe Ramsey blurs the lines between singer-songwriter sensibilities and the full-band indie sound we know and love, giving us a fresh new take with creativity at every twist and turn.
He shared his long-awaited debut EP ‘Making Notes’ on 25 March, showcasing a mature approach to songwriting and keeping it catchy without selling out his singer-songwriter roots.
Joe draws from the indie-meets-pop sound of the 2010s, crafting personal and honest lyrics with a refreshing perspective and rounding it off with stellar production. Produced by James Kenosha (Birdy, Rhodes, Mosa Wild) and supported by Help Musicians’ DiD, ‘Making Notes’ is aptly titled, as Joe learns from the world around him and opens his mind to new ways of thinking both creatively and in his own life.
“With a cracking selection of five bright, sunshine-y tracks, ‘Making Notes’ serves as the perfect summary of exactly what makes Joe Ramsey such a charmer. ‘Two Sides’ and ‘Stride’ harnesses that same burst of raucous, festival-worthy indie vigour we know and love, while ‘Take It From Me’ shows a different side to Ramsey. Slower and far more introspective, this track hints at a more mature side to the singer.” – CLASH Magazine
“‘Another Day’ showcases Joe’s ability to weave intricate, upbeat melodics with his unique songwriting capabilities.” – 1883 Magazine
“Indie-folk singer-songwriter Joe Ramsey has been building his songwriting talents over quarantine, balancing confessionals with euphoric pop heights.” – Under the Radar Magazine
